My Brother Scott and Almost-Sister-In-Law Jackie sent the boys these books and NightSpryte dolls for Christmas, signed copies from the author no less. Alex opened the package on Christmas morning with full toddler excitement, then tossed the stuffed toys into a nearby pile of similarly-uninteresting clothes, saying loudly "They don't work!" Yes, dear Alex, they do. Not every SINGLE toy has to have batteries and lights and make obnoxious noises!A few days later though, we got around the reading the bed time story, which is more of an cartoon story-line about Rollo the NightSpryte. His job is to sweeten up kids dreams and
scare away nighttime monsters. Alex liked the story, gathered up BOTH stuffed toys, and went straight to bed. The next day, he ran downstairs exclaiming, "They WORKED! They WORKED! No monsters. They WORKED!". Since then we have read the book countless times and he sleeps with both NightSprytes every night. (He's very funny about insisting he can see their eyes... in fact we had to install a little night light by his bed just for that purpose.)
Thanks Uncle Scott and Aunt Jackie for the "monster-protection"! Come visit soon!!

Oooh! I might have to try these out! Molly wakes up EVERY NIGHT crying hysterically. It's hard to talk her back into going to sleep in her bed...and she's getting to big to spend EVERY NIGHT from 11pm on in our bed!
