KEYS!
Alex's newest obsession (and I do mean obsession) is KEYS! And toy keys won't do, only real ones. He knows they do something important and he wants to be involved in it. If he can get his hands on some, he carries them around looking for locks or crevices that he can put one into. He knows which key on Mommy's key ring goes to Mommy's truck, and it makes his day if you let him sit in the driver's seat long enough to put the key in the ignition. Then of course he throws a major tantrum saying "drive, drive, driiiiivve!" when you have to remove him from the driver's seat and strap him into his car seat so it's a scene we try to avoid, but a friend snapped this picture the other day. I can't imagine the day he really is driving!!

We made Nate and Alex each a set of fake keys. We bought the uncut one from the hardware store, got them nice key rings and everything. They still don't get the function, but they love playing with them (supervised, of course).
Ha ha ha... I should send the pic to Toyota... maybe Alex will be famous and I'll get a free minivan which is what I really need!
