Is Wii Guitar Hero III considered a musical education? Perhaps we have been playing a little too much around here... Alex has twice pointed out a "guitar wii" song while I was flipping stations on the radio in the car. As in, he recognized it instantly and asked me to go back, which he never does otherwise. And both times he was correct. Perhaps it's not just us. At least three times in the past month I have heard
"Dream Police" by Cheap Trick (circa 1979),
"Barracuda" by Heart (circa 1977) and
"Bulls on Parade" by Rage Against the Machine (circa 1996) while flipping radio stations. Flipping being the operative word- I rarely actually listen to any station that might actually play either of the first two. So, is it that we've been playing too much and are hearing Wii Guitar Hero songs all over the place, or is it that we have now broadened our horizons and are recognizing songs that are part of the popular body of rock music and were always frequently played? Hmmm...
In any case, ROCK ON!
