14 Week Check Up

A brief OB appointment yesterday showed everything to be going along at the right pace. I have gained two pounds this month, my uterus measures appropriately, and the baby had a nice strong heartbeat. The results of the nuchal fold scan came back very good- no thickening of the nuchal fold means a decreased risk of Down's syndrome compared to the risk based on maternal age alone- which also means no indication for more invasive testing like an amnio or CVS. My next OB appointment is in a month, and my "big" 20 wk ultrasound is scheduled for June 27th. At that time, hopefully they can determine the gender of this little gummy bear so we can start picking names!
